How do I become a legally ordained minister?

Age requirements to become an ordained minister?

  • Answer:

That depends upon the denomination is question. Generally, you have to be an adult with a proven track record as a spiritually, psychologically, and emotionally mature Christian. Most often, you are required to defend your faith by writing a detailed essay about what you believe (about God, the Bible, who Christ is, etc. etc. etc.) and by being successfully defending this paper in front of a board made up of elders, deacons, pastors and/or seminary professors. Some denominations will ordain only those who have completed education in a Bible school and/or seminary. Some denominations will ordain only men; women are not welcome as spiritual leaders of a congregation.Thankfully, the latter sort of denominations are becoming few and far between. I have heard about some small extreme fundamental denominations who have ordained children, but these are exceptions.

Well it deals more with academics than with age. Generally Ordained Deacons require about 4 years of Seminary School or within a Religious Order, if the Deacon is going to remain a permit Deacon (well obviously they can't belong to a Religious Order) that's the end of the line of them, if they are a transitional Deacon entering the Priesthood about another 4 years of Seminary School or within a Religious Order is required before being Ordained Priest. Now to be an Ordained Bishop only the Pope can make that choice amongst the Priests. The only ones who can Ordain are Bishops.

An "Ordained" minister must be of legal age as an "Ordained" Minister can sign legal papers such as Marriage Certificates among other things...... The can be licensed at a younger age...as long as they are Christians (made the choice themselves"
