What is the average pay rent range in Los Angeles?

How can I find a house to rent for under 1000.00 a month in Los Angeles California? I keep just getting scams!?

Submitted tons of inquiries and all I've gotten back are scam artists that want money wiring and false lead ons.... We would take such good care of the property should we get the opportunity! We just want to live in a home. And pay rent. We are really good renters and I'm just so discouraged. Any help?

    You have 2 problems. 1, the rent is completely unreasonable. You are running into scams because nothing that cheap is very likely to exist. It certainly will NOT exist in a "quiet safe" area. It would be barely livable in a crime infested ghetto. if you want safe you have to be willing to pay for it. You can't expect something for nothing. The other issue is 2 cats. Why on earth people get pets before they OWN a home is beyond me. They really make it much harder even if you are willing to pay a fair amount for rent.

It would be barely livable in a crime infested ghetto. if you want safe you have to be willing to pay for it. You can't expect something for nothing. The other issue is 2 cats. In most cities across the country, you can barely rent a decent 2 bedroom apartment for $1000/month. In California, you won't get a nice 1 bedroom apartment, much less a home for that price range. The reason you are having so much trouble finding them is because they just don't exist.

you can go to Rent.com and type in the city and state. The website turns up alot of great matches in your selected area. I think that a decent house is going to run you at least $1300. So if possible I would cut back on some things. Good Luck and I know how people are always wanting to scam. Just pray about it and God will find you the perfect place

You wont find a whole house for $1000. Go to a property management company or a R.E. office that has rental listings in the Sunland-Tijunga area. In person. Not online. You can put up your own Housing Wanted listing, Landlords and Rental Agents Only. Look at the newspaper in the area, their classified rentals. Dont go through Craigslist !!

I don't know anyone in LA paying under $1000/month for a small one-bedroom apartment. A friend of mine has been looking for months. She doesn't earn a high salary and is currently sharing and looking for her own place, and anywhere relatively safe is listed at least $1200/month for a one bedroom. I don't think you could even get a house for rent in Compton for $1000, and that's not a safe area at all. I would not bother with websites as there are too many scams posted. Instead get in touch with actual agents and let them do the work for you
