Got I-131 travel permit and green card still pending, can I travel outside USA?how long time I can travel?

I have applied for adjustment of status and I have done finger printing my final interview , last month I got my work permit and Travel permit. my Question is , Can I travel with travel permit out side USA? and if so , How long time I can stay outside USA? Many friends has warned me of traveling outside USA if I did not receive my green card yet.

If you want to travel outside the u.s. before you actually receive your green card, you must apply for waht is called 'advance parole from the USCIS. See site below. Do NOT leave the country without it if you do not yet have your green card. i am not sure what that travel permit you refer to is. ASK the USCIS to be sure.
