How do I activate a camera for my mac?

Problems plugging in Kodak EasyShare C182 camera to Mac?

  • So, a little while ago I let my friend use my camera for a school project. She told me that her and my teacher couldn't get the pictures off. She came to me later telling me that they somehow figured it out and they were loaded onto our school Mac laptop. Later that week, I plugged my camera into my Mac laptop, and it says "The UBS device is taking too much power for the computer. Please disconnect other USB devices and try again", or something along the lines of that. There were no other devices on the computer. I tried out desktop Mac and it did the very same thing. That was about a month ago and it has been doing that ever since. My camera is a Kodak EasyShare C182, and every time I plugged it into the computer I used the correct cord for it. Sorry, but I do not know what my friend and teacher did to my camera. It has never done this before. Any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated! To get my pictures off, I moved the memory card to a Fuji Film camera our family has, but it doesn't move the videos.

The easiest and best method to transfer photos and video from your camera to your computer is via a little USB card reader (which are very cheap these days and widely available). Plug the reader into a USB port and insert the memory card. It will show up as a drive, and you can simply drag and drop the photos across to the folder of your choice. http://www.ephotozine.com/article/Card-Readers-explained-140 Card readers also work for moving photos from the computer onto a card (in case you want to take a few photos to get printed - NOT for viewing on the camera purposes).
