What is the cheapest and best artificial sugar/sweetener to BAKE with?

Answer:
The cheapest is cyclamates, it's heat stable and has a good taste, but it's what gave those rats cancer in the 70's so they're probably not a healthy choice. Splenda has a granulated baking blend where it measure as if it were sugar. The packets are sweeter and you can't measure them like sugar but you can go by packets, each packet has the same sweetness as two teaspoons of sugar. Splenda is heat stable and works with baking. Aspartame is not heat stable and breaks down when baked. If you need the physical properties of sugar like carmelizing then use coconut sugar, it's still sugar but it has a lower glycemic index. Don't use Agave Syrup, it has 92% fructose and fructose has been linked with insulin resistance which is why they're saying sodas are bad for you cause high fructose corn syrup ( 55% fructose ) is used to sweeten sodas.

Splenda Bulk is the best one to bake with if you insist on deleting the sugar! But you do know that you cannot do yeast doughs with any artificial sweetener don't you! Must have sugar to feed the yeast! I find it is not the amount of sugar in baked goods that spikes my glucose! It is the flour and if you can use something other than grains to make baked goods let me know.

none of them are cheap, but Splenda and Truvia both have larger bags made for baking, they would be in the same section as the sugar and spices.
