New ideas for summer makeup?

Spring/Summer makeup ideas?

  • It's starting to get warmer, and I've noticed that my winter foundation (natureluxe by covergirl) is starting to look oily. Are there any foundations good for spring/summer? As in something that won't look as oily? BOTH drugstore and highend please! :) What's your everyday spring/summer makeup routine? Also, what are some good colours for spring and summer? For cheeks and lips? Thanks a bunch everyone! :)

  • Answer:

Try a tinted moisterizer instead of a foundation. A good drugstore one is covergirl auqa smoothers, and my favorite high end one is the laura mercier one. If your skin is still oily with a tinted moisterizer try putting a powder over it, if you don't already. My favorite drugstore powder is maybeline dream matte powder, and my favorite high end one is the mac mineralize skinfinish natural. Silver eyeshadows are in this spring, so I like to put just a light silver eyeshadow all over my lid, and then do black winged eyeliner. For spring I like to wear less eyeshadow then I do in the winter, so usually I pick a light color and put it all over my lid. I also like to wear highlighter in the spring (I like benifits highbeam) I also heard that bronze-ey cheeks are really in this spring. So you could look for a bronzeish blush. My favorite drugstore blushes are the maybeline dream bouncy blushes. For high end blushes, I really like benifit's (both there powder, and their liquid products.) My favorite lip product of the moment are revlon lip butters. They have a wide range of colors, and they are really moisterizing. (I like to wear bright lip colors in the spring, btw) I hope my answer didn't jump around too much :) hope I helped!

Hey! :) Tinted moisturizers are awesome for summer. They look super natural and you don't have to worry about setting it with powder or about it melting off. Some good high-end tinted moisturizers are: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, Benefit You Rebel Tinted Moisturizer. There are also some awesome drugstore ones: CoverGirl Aqua Smoothers TInted Moisturizer, Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer As for regular liquid foundation, I've heard really good things about the Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation. As for color, I definitely think that coral is a must have for summer. I've been seeing a lot of matching lip and cheek color, so don't be afraid to use your lipstick as a cream blush as well! ;) MAC's Costa Chic lipstick is gorgeous and I love it for summer!

I think some subtle pinks would be good for your lips and cheeks, something that's soft and not too BAM, you know? Like the flowers, show light, subtle bursts of pink before you get into the really colourful stuff for summer ;) And for foundation, maybe try powder if you use liquid, it would appear less oily :)
