Is this True there are four girls to one guy?

I've lost one of my best guy friends to the popular girls...?

• So this guy and I have known each other for the past 3 years. Ever since we've met each other, we've been the best of friends, inseparable; lots of people mistaked us for a couple because we liked to hug each other and make suggestive comments. (I used to have a crush on him, and i think he used to like me too.) I was always loyal to him, never abandoning him or anything like that. He's a year younger than me, so in my freshman year he was still in middle school so no one in my high school really knew him. Now I'm in 10th grade and he's in 9th. He was kind of known as a dork before, he had this weird bowl cut that I thought was cool and unique but everyone else hated. Now he's gone through a complete transformation, and erm, he's hit puberty. Now the popular girls are all over him, flirting and batting their eyelashes at him. He's become immensely popular in a really short period of time, he's friends with practically EVERYONE at school. I mean everyone. Even seniors love him. So what really bothers me is now that he's all popular now, we've been hanging out less and less. The only time we can talk to each other is on the bus since we don't have any classes together and he's always around the popular girls. I'm also kind of getting this vibe he doesn't really want to be seen around with me since I'm not popular. He's not a jerk or anything, he really has a great personality and he's a really good guy (at least when we're alone together). I just feel really abandoned, and if I tell him how I feel, he's going to assume I'm in love with him or something (which I'm NOT, although I will admit he's very attractive). And what really irks me is those girls like him only for his LOOKS, and they care about his personality. I asked this one popular girl what she liked most about him (it took a lot of badgering since most of the popular girls hate my guts), and she said, "Well you know, he's really sexy." These girls literally throw themselves at my guy friend (an incident I'd rather not discuss), and he LETS them. I know he's not my boyfriend or anything, so I can't control who flirts with him and whether he flirts back. But what can I do to get over this intense frustration? Or better yet, how can my guy friend and I be the best friends we were 3 years ago? Sorry that this is so long, it's kind of a rant.

  Wow. He might be basking in the joy of people wanting to get to know him. If he was a 'dork' before, he must be loving the attention, even though it's the wrong kind. I think that you should talk to him. Tell him how you miss him, and how you hate not being able to talk to him much. Tell him that hes a very important friend to you, so that he doesn't get the wrong idea. He should understand if you guys were so close before. Best of luck.
