What are the four basic steps of DNA replication?

Pease Explain the steps of DNA replication?

  • Can someone explain the steps of DNA Replication along with the role of polymerases, primers and telomeres/telomerase and how they all interact together. Also how the telomeres fill the gap especially. I know it's a big question with a lot of information, but the text book just confuses me. Thanks! Greatly appreciated!

  • Answer:

The double stranded DNA "unzips" meaning that the nitrogenous base pairs split apart. Then new nitrogenous base pairs attach to each base (Adenine with Thymine and Guanine with Cytsosine) while the bases are attaching, the sugar phosphate attaches to hold the bases together
