In saying that there are also websites to avoid like poetry.com and its cousins.. a google search of bad writers sites is always advisable to check that the competiton you are entering is legitimate. Suggest also that you have a chat to your English (or equivalent teacher) he/ she may also be a good lead for these types of competitions cause they would be getting stuff through the school and their job.
