You should check JC Penny. I got mine there when i was graduating from elementary school and I'm going to get it from there this year when i graduate middle school. my school is really big on the dress code too but you might get away with a few inches away from your knees because your tall. I'm tall to and get away with that rule a lot because I'm tall. my gym shorts are no where near my knees

I think you should go for maybe white or cream with an elegant twist to make you seem more mature and like you are ready for high school.
