How can you tell the sex of a bearded dragon?

  • i just got a beared dragon last night its claim stays put til it want to go in my hair lol its 8 in long i was wantin to no how to sex it right now im callin it monster i might not no much about them but i looked up info on the net about them n youtube n even my pet store but i learned alot about them their cute n funny way different from a gecko n snakes but still idk like to no the sex for it so if i ever get another one ill no wha 1 to get and how many crickets should i feed mine a day i dont want to over feed it plz help n thanks

Those answers, are, well... just wow. If you lift the tail, just behind the cloaca, there will be two bumps, typically Parallel to each other, on a male. They take some time to appear as the dragon ages, sometimes they will appear one at a time, and exactly when and how old varies from dragon to dragon. It is not uncommon to think a beardie under a year old is a female, only to then have the hemipene bumps appear. I found a video of a kid showing it on youtube. If your dragon is only 8 inches now I'm pretty sure you won't be able to tell if it's a boy or a girl yet. Mine is about 12 inches and is still to small to tell.

by the size they are males always grow alot bigger than the females and it would usually say before you buy on
