How can I grow my short hair?

  • I have really short hair, I'm African American. anyway, my hair has always been short, it's like I have no edges( My grandmother says it runs in the family, my sister and my mom has it). So I keep my hair covered in scarfs or whatever, this has been going on for about 7 or 8 months because someone called me a name about my hair (which was embarrassing) so I've been covering it up ever since, and I've been getting in trouble for it at school alot. I just wanna know how I can grow my hair out. My hair is soft and some areas are longer than the other, the back is very short and soft. my hair is naturally curly. I'm the only one with hair of this texture but I think it will go away if my hair grows out. I was it with Designer essentials or Do grow or whatever it's called. it's thin and brittle and falls out easy. the lady that does my hair tried a different kind of hair. the scarf this is like for confidence and security, I wear my hoodie to school everyday because I dont wanna feel judged.. also I'm gonna try to go natural for the summer and do it in twist because I tried it with a piece of my hair last summer and it actually grew and it made me so happy that my hair can actually grow! I just dont wanna be judged by the kids in school..

    You could stop covering your hair. My hair is really short also, and some people criticize me for it, cuz I'm the only one out of all my friends to have short hair. This used to bug me, but eventually I find that it's ok. You can use extensions if you want, or just let it grow... It grows longer after a few months. Also, if you want your hair to look better, you could put pins or kinda French braid your hair. It sorta works with short hair; sometimes French braiding hair creates an illusion that makes hair look longer.

The sad truth is, that when trying to grow your short hair, there is a phase where it can look somehow awkward, no matter what your hair type it. There are certain lotions and shampoos that can stimulate growth u can use, but they don't do wonders. And stop covering your hair! A scarf might protect your hair from the sun, but the hair needs the air. Just leave it as t is. No hairspray or strange coifs.. You'll need to be patient and just ignore any idiot that feels the urge to comment on your hair.
