  Since it is small and clay, it can't be hollow or made of beams. It has to be basically solid and engraved/carved on the outside to suggest the levels and platforms with perhaps the space underneath carved away to show the graceful structure. 90% of the beauty in overview is the long curve of the corners up to the top, so you have to capture that. In anything smaller than a foot tall, making it solid and then carving out is about the only practical way. And you may have to stop and let the clay firm up by drying before continuing is you are using earth clay, or let the clay cool down from handling if you are using the never hardening oil moistened modeling clay.
