Question for car sales people-?

I have a question about buying a car in Florida and their sales tax?

  • I understand that if you buy a car out-of-state, you still end up paying your state's sales tax when you register your car. However, in Florida, each county has their own sales tax. I live in a county with 7% sales tax, but am interested in a car in another county with only 6%. Will I have to pay the difference just like I would if I had purchased a car out-of-state?

  • Answer:

you would pay the sales tax for the county you live in. If you buy it and pay that counties tax and its more or less than the county where you register it the DMV will issue a refund or tell you that you owe some more cash
