What is a good place to camp in Philadelphia?

Is South Broad Street in Philadelphia a bad street?

  • I am planning to go meet Nicki Minaj in the FYE on South Broad Street in Philadelphia on April 4th. But to do that, I need to go to the place at like 9 in the morning to get a ticket. Then I have to come back later at night and me and my friend were going to camp out. Is this a bad idea? My dad is trying to scare me about it saying that's a bad part of Philly that a lot of shootings have happened in.. Is this true? Any help would be awesome.

    Christ, it's 1 block from City Hall. Phila. is not Baghdad. Nobody is going too chop off your head for seeing Nicki Minaj. Dad needs to chill. Despite Action News, Most of us go though living in town without issue. Besides they have cops down there for such a crowd. Camp out to see her? If you like a funny wardrobe & a cute booty. But hey, not my musical choice. So Dad, I think If the Mayor can work a block away; your baby will be fine. All the real slime are in the burbs any way....

That's a very safe area. South Broad Street is the Avenue of the Arts. The FYE is on the corner of Chestnut St. in the middle of Center City.
