Answer:
You sound like your in the UK, so i'll give you the info as it is here. Things you NEED: Money Pencil case P.E kit On your first day that is all. Schools tell you to buy dictionaries but it is completely uncecessary and a total waste of money - you NEVER use them again! The money is to buy your lockers/homework diaries and school lunch unless you pack it. On your first day you will get the feel of the school and the teachers will tell you specifically what you need THEN. It is so common for people to pack way too much for school, in 6 week after starting you won't even remember half the things you bought Remember in the UK all exercise books are provided for you. During the summer holidays you will get a letter mailed home to you about what you will need. So don't stress too much! Have a great Easter :)

Pencil case: Pens Pencils Ruler Rubber Sharpener Compass Protractor Scissors (optional) Glue (optional) Coloured pencils (optional) School bag: Phone Wallet or packed lunch Bus pass Planner (provided by school) Exercise books (provided by school) Text books (provided by school) PE kit Planners, exercise books and textbooks will probably be provided by the school. You won't need to bring your own paper or ring-binders until GCSE. Your planner will have space for your timetable, homework timetable (if there is a set one) and space to write what your homework is and when it is due in every day.

Check with your teachers. Don't they have supply lists these days, or am i stuck in elementary years? Your teacher should be specific on what to get and all of the details, for his/her class. But basic things i'm guessing. No.2 Pencils, Mechanical pencils, Pens, Loose Paper, erasers, white out, calculator (depending on what math course you take), A ruler with English and metric measurements, highlighters, a binder, folders, spiral bound composition books, etc. The basic things.

*mini umbrella *mini stapler *paper clips stored in a small zip lock *portable scissors (preferably one that folds up and can be stored in your pencil case) *post-it-notes *small note pad *water bottle What is a "rota" (I'm in college so I have no idea what the lingo is in high school or elementary school these days)?

Pens, pencils, crayons, rubber, a bit of cash (just enough for emergencies) Most schools will give you a planner, but before long you'll be asking "what can I take out of my school bag ..." a wall planner at home is useful especially the write on wipe off type.
