A question about paypal.

Paypal refunds question?

  • So I have bought on item Ebay which I didn't actually mean to buy, the funds were however taken from the credit card onto Paypal and was paid through paypal to the sellers paypal account within a few minutes which is fair enough, I however contacted the seller for a refund which they accepted. So I checked Paypal and the payment which recently said "completed" now says "refunded" which is good I hope, and a new payment called "Refund From" is there which is completed with the funds hopefully credited back to me. My question is though, where do the funds actually get deposited? Do they go straight to my credit card or do they get added to the Paypal balance, which currently states £0.00 GBP. If they always get added to the Paypal account then why does it state 0.00GBP? The refund was also only completed one hour ago from posting this question, so is there a possible time which I have to wait for the funds to get added or something? Thanks in advance Yeah I added my Credit Card details to the Paypal account which I linked to my Ebay account, and paid through Paypal so I assume Paypal just took the funds straight off and added them to the sellers but it does say refunded so should all be ok then? I'm just abit nervous incase they don't actually get added or if I get scammed or something lol, first time getting refunded :P

  • Answer:

It goes back to wherever you paid from. For example, if you paid from your PayPal balance, the funds will be returned there. If you paid using a debit (or whatever) card, the funds will go back to the card. I'm guessing you paid by card because I think if it was from PayPal balance, the refund would appear immediately. It make take a day or two to show up at your bank statement though. EDIT: Well since you used your credit card, then it should be returned there. If it says that it has been refunded and you have received an email, it should be fine. But just to be safe, don't leave feedback until you make sure. Can you see your bank account/credit charges online? If you can, it will make things much easier because you can see the refund in a couple of days. If you can't see your account, then either go to the bank or call and ask. But wait a couple of days first for the refund to appear. From my experience, things will go fine and you will get your refund.

it goes to your paypal account then you have to transfer it to your bank account which takes about 3 or 4 working days (monday to friday) you will get an email from paypal saying the money is being transferred and when to expect it on your card.
