Can I connect my blackberry to the home internet?

I don't understand Internet for blackberry...?

  • I got a blackberry today. I played with the settings so I have hotspot browser for internet. I guess this means I connect internet through my home router but can have sms and phone calls through my network(At&t) My question is if my router were to turn off or whatever, does my blackberry automatically switch to the network internet and charge me? I really can't afford to pay on my bill for internet. Am I using hotspot right? Is my bill going to go up using hotspot?

  • Answer:

Umm... Well first of all, the hotspot feature turns the phone itself into a Wi-Fi hotspot that lets you use the phone to connect other devices (iPod touch, tablet, 3DS, etc) to the Internet. If you can't afford to pay for the Internet, you shouldn't have gotten a smartphone because whether you use your 3G data or not you're charged for having it on your plan and all smartphones require it.
