How do you fix a burned out monitor?

Broken Monitor, how did it break, and (more importantly) how to fix?

  • I have a broken monitor lying in backroom for almost two years now, and I don't use because I have a spare monitor. When I found it, i decided i want to try to use it again since I've completely forgetten how it broke in the first place. I attached it to my computer (which i was just using a while ago) and to test it and it didn't work. So i gave up. When I reattached the working monitor (just minutes later), it didn't work anymore. I tried another working VGA cable (used and working just yesterday), and it didn't work either. Then I remembered what was wrong with the old monitor, it had something to do with power or voltage or something. How did it affect the perfectly functioning monitor?!?! If you don't know how to fix it, can you share a good forum with a lot of experts, thanks! Please tell me how to fix the (previously working) monitor, and if you have a solution for the old monitor, that will help too, but i prioritize the working monitor.

  • Answer:

its probably your motherboards VGA output.. you might want to try getting a graphics card (cheapo one) and using that VGA output instead
