Why is my hous so dusty is it my air purifier or is it just my house?
-
Well my house is really old and I've never knew that it was so dusty. I have recently purchased (2) AIR PURIFIERS and one of them overheated and the motor melted the plastic! "seriously". So I am stuck with a Honeywell quiet clean that uses I think u.v. Filter . And now I've cleaned it how your soposed to but it didn't work so I tryed using vinigar that someone suggested to use and now it smells and it is blowing dust again. Oh and did I mention I am an allergy sufferer. A couple of nights I COULDENT SLEEP :[ so now I am exhausted. CAN SOMEBODY SUGGEST SOMETHING at least an air purifier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Answer:
I agree with Doug and evidently you should change your air purifier to better one, perhaps it will be expensive but your health is more expensive! Dust is full of germs, bacteria, viruses, fungi and dust mites. Actually the dust mites (about 100,000 in each square yard of carpet) that eat dead skin particles and dander in the air produce approximately 20 waste droppings a day, which creates a protein that irritates allergies. HEPA filters are very effective at removing airborne dust mites. The best model should have a pre-filter that catches the largest particles, preventing clogging of the HEPA filter and a motor that actively draws air into the unit rather than passively receives airborne particles. Purchase the model that is most appropriate for the size of the room it will be used. As by my experience I learned that small and less expensive models are often noisy, have smaller filters and restricted air flow. My wife is allergic thus I know what I am talking about. Since you have an "Old House" it probably needs to have the heater vents & cold air return ducts proffesionally cleaned along with the furnace itself. There should companies out there in your area that offer these services.. Once this is done you finally get that allergy relief you have been seaching for....

Humans skin sheds everyday and that's all the 'dust' that's probly on top of ur ceiling fans. So I'd dust, and suggest maybe febreeze something that's smells good.
