Who is the best batsman of all time?

Poll: Who is all time best cricket batsman,Sir Donald bradman or Sachin Tendulkar?

  • Answer:

I'd have to say Bradman. You have a contemporary batsman being compared to him sixty years after he retired, that is proof in itself. In another sixty years time, batsmen will still be compared to Bradman. In 2072, today's contemporary greats will just be another impressive statistic, but Don Bradman will remain the benchmark. He has withstood the test of time. Tendulka is an impressive player, but there are fourteen batsmen ahead of him with better career averages. That simply can't be defined as 'the greatest'.

This question has been done to death. Face it all Australian's will say Sir Donald Bradman (as will those old enough to have seen both play), all Indian's will say Sachin Tendulkar is. Arguements could be made for both sides, but the side which has the most merit is Sir Donald Bradman.

Bradman. There were no easybeats in Bradman's day, he only played one series against India. His average of over 99 says it all. Also the number of centuries scored per innings batted is nearly 1 century for every three innings. Sachin isnt even close with the next best average, That goes to Graeme Pollock who averaged in the 60s. Averages aren't everything I agree but with not having played for over 60 years averages are the only point to go by.

Sachin played around 700 international matches. While, Bradman played 52 matches only. Hahaha
