Very different. You have a choice to own a car and drive and one of the responsibilities of that privilege is that you carry liability insurance. If you don't want to carry that insurance don't drive.

Actually car insurance is a federal mandate and hopefully people view themselves more valuable than cars. However driving is a privilege, but visiting the ER isn't and that's the problem. The Affordable Healthcare Act is basically the same as the Massachusetts Healthcare Reform Law. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massachusetts_health_care_reform So in this instance voting for Romney would be like voting for Obama since so-call Obamacare is modeled after Romneycare which is playing out very well in Massachusetts. All Obama is asking that everyone obtain some sort of minimum insurance who can afford it and he's making it dirt cheap for those who can't afford it, so the poor no longer have an excuse to say they can't afford. He's not telling anyone that they have to buy the govenments brand of yearly insurance nor is he telling anyone that they have to change their health insurance. He's subsidizing small businesses who can't afford to provide their employees health insurance by letting joining forces with other small businesses and making it dirty cheap, because the more Americans with health insurance the cheaper it becomes for us in the long run. The penalties are imposed on the individuals who neglect to buy health insurance come tax time. No ones going to be locked up. Rich folks aren't going to have to stand in line with -gulp!- poor folks at the free clinic. Actually the platform for Obamacare stems back even further than Romney to 1996 Republican congress who proposed these same measures. It almost seems like conservatives are only opposed to there own ideas when liberals propose them. The people here are right driving is a privilege, but I gutantee hospitals being forced to foot the bill for the uninsured is not a privilege. Unfortunately we can't revoke peoples health. You know those excessive ER visitors who don't have health insurance becasue they can't afford it. P.s I'm not completely for the Affordable Healthcare Act because it does nothing to control the monopoly brand name insurers have in the healthcare market. Because these people are still capable of raising premiums through various tricks of the trades, which is why being able to buy health insurance across states line makes no sense because the same insurers have a monopoly over all the health insurance plans.
