What is wall street? Is it just banks and corporations?

    Wall Street is actually a street just like Broadway only Broadway is home to theater and Wall Street used to be just a street but now has grown to become one of the largest financial districts in the work and is home to banks, stock exchange and other multi national corporations eg Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, NASDAQ, JP Morgan Chase. Alot of the firms there actually closed or were taken over by others after the recession hit. Now the names of the firms might exist but only a few mega corporations own most of them.
