Can I use an ethernet cable from my laptop to my PC using wifi to get a connection?

I'm trying to use a wifi connection on my PC...i lost the code I'm using a friends interenet I rent a house in back of their house (my laptop usually finds the connection adn logs on itself when I turn it on) I'm using my laptop right now. But I just got my PC out of storage and I want to know can I use an ethernet cable and run it from my laptop to my PC and will it have internet? Please help Thx :) Sorry I'm not completely computer saavy on some things lol!
