How To Use Rosetta Stone For Ipad?

Should I use Rosetta Stone to learn a new language?

  • I have been thinking about buying Rosetta Stone for Mandarin, the Level 1,2,3,4,5 for $399 for business purposes later in life. I am also thinking about Spanish. 1) Have you used Rosetta Stone's products, and will they help me speak the language fluently or at least efficiently? 2) What language would be the most practical to learn for business purposes? I think Mandarin and possibly Spanish.

Hi, Why not trying learning some basics of different languages to see which one you like? Chinese is a good choice if you want to learn a language for business purpose. Here is an interesting website you can try: http://www.gurulu.com/en It's designed for people who are serious in learning Chinese. You teach yourself Chinese by reading news in China. You not only learn Chinese but also important business news in China. If you're totally new to Chinese, I advise 'Beginner Fastlane'. The most important and commonly used 150 words are used in articles in the section. Topics in daily life are covered. Many people who are interested to work or run business in China also take HSK exams. HSK is the standard Chinese proficiency test in PR China. It'll be easier to find a job or get visa if you have HSK certificates. I hope the information is useful. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at [email protected] :)

I've never tried Rosetta, but I'm sure it will work if you're focused and dedicated to learning the language. There are alternatives, one of which I used and will recommend to you: The Pimsleur Method. I learned Spanish in just a few weeks during my commute to and from work. I wouldn't have been able to do that with Rosetta as it requires you to dedicate yourself to it at a computer. If you live in the states you should definitely learn Spanish. Mandarin is also a good choice, but with so many Spanish speakers here at home (there are advertisements in Spanish now...) it would be best to learn it first.

I watcherd their commercial in which a white women said in Mandarin ( I can speak Marnrin). And as a native speaker of Mandarin, I think it soulds pretty bad. There are many books and tools you can use but one thing important is that you need to put into time and lots of efforts. Learning a new language well takes time and patience and a lot of practice.
