How do I get my friends to STOP listening to these horrible bands?

• *Do NOT read this if you are a fan of Falling In Reverse, Escape The Fate, or Black Veil Brides* I'm in high school, and I have three girl friends (now only two because one turned into a total jerk) that are currently obsessing over a few bands (Falling In Reverse, Black Veil Brides, and Escape The Fate). Seeing as these bands are somehow considered to be in the "rock" genre, I was excited because Rock music is like my passion (And I've always wanted to introduce someone to Rock). However, I had no idea who these bands were until I looked them up. Until now, these girls were only listening to Country and Ska (so they really didn't know much about Rock). One friend was the first to learn about them when she started playing guitar (she asked me to teach her since I'm a fairly good guitarist). Somewhere, she heard I'm Not A Vampire by Falling In Reverse and fell in love with them. The next day she told me she found a rock band she likes and I was excited. she shared it with my other two friends and got them hooked on these three bands as well. After weeks of hearing them chanting I'm Not A Vampire lyrics in unison, I decided to look them up and give them a chance (my musical taste is based on a combination of appealing sound and instrumental talent). I looked up a few songs by each band. Well, THAT was a half-hour of my life I'll never get back. They were HORRIBLE. Utterly terrible. The singer of each band totally sucked, every band member seemed to be playing their respective instruments for the very first time, and (most importantly to me) the guitar work and solos were PATHETIC. On top of that, my friends are now obsessed with how they look (Black Veil Brides are almost KISS wannabes, and FIR and ETF seem to be TRYING to look like dirt bags) even though they are clearly only thinking that because they are the ones creating this noise pollution. If I hear that song or any other song by these bands, I'll take a hostage. It drives me insane. I know I'm Not A Vampire from beginning to end now..................and I've only listened to this song ONCE in my entire life. THEY WON'T STOP SINGING THIS CRAP. These bands are talentless. They're wannabes. THEY SUCK. How can I show my friends how bad they are? They think that these guys are gods no matter what I say. There has to be something that will make them realize how bad they are. PLEASE help. Thank you, Connor.

  Don't start really worrying until they listen to Blood on the Dancefloor!!! Lmao, they are really horrible, look up 'B*tches Get Stitches', and in I <3 Hello Kitty' they're talking about f*cking Hello Kitty. TERRIBLE. This is what Insane Clown Posse teaches people not to like lmao. I agree with you though. Black Veil Brides isn't that band, and they're metal, not rock. If you're friends say they're rock, they don't know what the f*ck then. BVB bases themselves off of Motley Crue, Kiss, Slayer and other bands. I only like a couple songs from them. ETF is decent, but FIR is f*cking HORRIBLE. ETF is kinda a sell out now. Overall, your friends have a horrible music taste, and you're wonderful by not falling under the 'horrible influence'. But maybe you should just tell them how you feel about it. My chatroom 'friend' keeps writing out dumbass lyrics by retarded emo bands that don't make any sense, so I write out lyrics from Twiztid, Boondox or ICP and she shuts up haha. But maybe you should just tell them to not mention those bands around you. If they're true friends, they'd understand. Just talk to them. If all fails, learn some ICP or something explicit and sing them and be like 'well you guys sing horrible songs, I can sing better ones' haha. It works for me at least. I'd suggest Sutter Kain - August Underground, but that is really out of the question to learn. Horrible lyrics.
