How to remove tags in google?

Help!! What is Google picking up (meta tags) extra wording?

  • I started real estate 7 months ago and pay $40 montly for a website. I am still not getting google hits at all. I have meta tags, which I can enter through the designer's website. But, I don't have control to edit any of the HTML myself. Here's the problem.... About 5 months ago, I went through Google's "webmaster tools" to confirm my site. It started picking up weird keywords (ie. beach, city, san, hills, valley, lake, etc..) None of these words are in my "keywords for the meta tags. I looked at the source and I guess because I have IDX set up (where people can search for listings on my site) and it has a few hundred cities, words from the cities are being picked up because it's IN the main source. I looked at the "text" area of where I write in my own text and that portion shows up in the source code UNDER every single city that is in the IDX search. (Side Note: I know a bit about websites to check sore and some HTML. I only went with this company because I didn't know how to do all the IDX coding.) I know that Google doesn't just read the meta tags, but also what is on the page. If my text (which I can edit) is below all the cities, do I have a chance of that ever being picked up?
