What could be causing my hip pain?

I've been having sharp, persistent pain in my right hip for the past few days, and I'm not sure what caused it. It feels like the pain is centered right in the joint, exactly where leg meets groin. I'm fine when I'm standing, walking, or sitting, but when I stand up or try to bend from the waist my right hip decides not to work. My hip hurts when I stand up from sitting too. I don't have any odd swelling or bruising, I haven't fallen or bashed into anything recently. I've tried heat, ice, ibuprofin, menthol rub, massage; nothing seems to work. I google searched my symptoms (gasp) but I can't get a drs appointment until Thursday. Any idea of something I can do in the meantime?

You can't find a source for that pain because it's actually in the lower back where tight back muscles can press onto the nerves leaving the spine going to your hip to cause the pain you have. To get rid of the pain you have to free up your back muscles to release the tight ones pressing onto the nerves and here's how to free them up: Back: (do while sitting on a chair) Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front, and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm as straight as possible. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, then release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side. For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
