Equation of plane question?

Vectors: Find the distance from the origin to the plane that has x intercept of 2, a y intercept of -3, and..?

  • Answer:

    I don't understand why you want to project a 3d plane onto a 2d plane and then find the distance by using the distance formula. The distance formula works just as well for a 3d plane. For instance if your origin is at (0,0,0) then:- distance = square root ( (2 - 0)^2 + (-3 - 0)^2 + (5 - 0)^2 ) distance = square root ( 38 ) distance = 6.16
