What do you do think sibling 2 will actually do ?
-
"be honorable and do the right thing! sell their own home immediately following the death of the remaining parent to give sibling 1 and 3 their not so equal share or keep the lot" by deciding not to sell their own home in order to raise the money to give to siblings 1 and 3 their share "after all why should sibling 2 part with any of the money when by law because the way the will is written they don't have to!! Sibling 1 does not live in the local area so sees the remaining parent approx 9 times a year Sibling 2 is away on vacation at least 4 months of the year then spends 4 hours a week with the parent when home Sibling 3 is around 90% of the time so their parent isn't lonely and takes the parent to all appointments and spends 20hours plus a week with that parent 5 days a week when sibling 2 is home and 7 days a week to take the place of sibling 2, when sibling 2 is away on vacation The will reads that there are three siblings and that sibling 2 gets everything ie house contents etc, and when sibling 2 sells their own home (no clause saying their own house has to be sold) then sibling 2 gets to keep half the total proceeds and sibling 1 and 3 is to then share the remaining half. A little more regarding sibling 2!! They took the parent to a lawyer to make a will one week after one of the parents passed away without the other 2 siblings knowing and when the remaining parent was grief sticken!! I am asking this question for a very good friend who is one of the siblings Oh and I know what I think but how many of you think the will should just be split equally between the three siblings even though sibling 3 is around most of the time and does the most for that parent

Answer:
Well sibling 2 has it made! And I think that anyone low enough to go and take the remaining parent ie the mum or dad to a solicitor in such a short time after the other has passed away is the lowest of lows, to get the surviving parent to make a will at such a terrible time. So I think sibling 2 will never sell up and give anything to the other two siblings and seems to have had all this already planned out! what I can't understand is why a parent would not just do a straight split between the three children?? Seems rather mean especially if sibling 3 is there for that surviving parent most of the time What a very sad situation
