What does standby time mean?

Does he like me? I mean I feel guys never notice me .. so what is it like this time?

• There's this guy I've noticed and I'm not the type who dates .. i believe I have time for that.. but anyways .. it started out like this: ME and my FATHER were walking down the church parking lot when I saw this really good looking blond and he had the biggest smile on his face and was looking at me. I'm not overly excited but I felt he was really nice and thats all. Well, he said, "Hi! guys! Have a great day today!" He looked like he was going to reach out his hand but i felt when he saw my dad he didn't. But, my Dad went full out and gave him a hell of a greeting with a hug and all. BUt, he still was looking at me like in the eye and still smiling. Anyways, I literally melted but didn't take it to my head. I mean what if he thinks I'm jst a kid or something, I'm 17 but I'm petite (thats why). Well, we went to the trunk of our van and he went to his.. approximately 20 ft apart. So, I did an experiment lol. Everytime I looked at him, I wanted to see if he'd look at me. And he did, every single time and he was staring right thru my eye and smiling. Months later, this guy comes quite acquainted with my family. I mean for some one we don't see every day, he was nice. He is quite sociable and he talks to my little sister, says hi, my brother and cousin, my dad and even asked my mom her name. I feel he talks to everyone but me. He does smile at me and I see him giving me stares often. One time, we were with my friends and he knew I was there but he was talking to them and not me. Every time he looked up he'd look at me and quickly look away. I said Hi once and Not because I wanted to but he was just there and didn't want to be roud. He made the situation so awkward and his hi seemed like he nervous and didn't want to see it. Yet, I see him staring at me alot lately. I don't do the whole thing where I look for him or anything, I have my own jolly time at church, do my own thing and this is what keeps happening.
