Why is my hair falling out/what can I do?
-
For about a month now, I've noticed some excessive "shedding" I don't find a lot of hair on my pillow(none actually) but when I wash my hair in the morning I lose a ton, same goes for when I comb through my hair (wide toothed comb) and it seems to gradually fall out throughout the day. Most of the hairs are long strands (as long as my hair length) but don't have the white bulb on the end. I used to straighten my hair every day, but I no longer do. I researched some hair treatments and i have recently started taking both green tea extract, and a hair skin and nails supplement. I am 17 years old, and i'm in the process of getting into college next year and getting financial aid, though i don't feel very stressed about it. I talked to my doctor and she said that my iron and thyroid levels were fine. My mom has relatively thin hair, but both my grandma and aunt have full heads of hair. Help? Thanks.

Answer:
Don't worry you are probably just paranoid. It is scary to see all the hair that falls out when your washing/brushing your hair. I have been there, done that. I lose a bunch of hair every single day of my life but I still have a full head of hair. On average, we lose about 100 strands of hair each day. So you are probably overworrying, as this is normal.

Go to another doctor or go to a specialist, your doctor didn't help.... I would love to help but I don't know how much your flat iron has damaged your hair or if you use to dye it ect. In the mean time you could try using a deep conditioner every week or two and see if that helps....

Only shower everyother day, dont use any hairspray or sticky products and always brush your hair from the ends first by holding the hair in a ponytail then go up from there

Get a second opinion. If your doctor didn't help, find another.

It's normal to lose up to 200 hairs a day.

Trim your split ends. Mine does this too.

since ur scalp itchy that means u have dandruff problems so first control that, I am sorry I can't go in details how to control that but there are a lot of information online for how to control dandruff but find whatever solution is suitable for ur hair type and for hair loss try taking biotine pills. Also, make sure u don't have iron defeciency and make sure to take enough protein in ur diet for controlling hair loss. Additionally, don't stress too much since we all know stress is bad for health and bad health causes hairloss, in meant time staying active and excercising helps too. /there are many natural treatments out there as well. Like making home made masks etc..U can find recepes for those masks online too. Here is one of those DIY websites http://www.sheknows.com/beauty-and-style/articles/805126/homemade-hair-masks. Last but not least search online for shampoos that treats dandruffs as well as controling hair loss. I personally find loreal very useful for my hair but still try to change ur shapooo every 3 months. Tip: Find three brands that works for ur hair and then rotate using them throughout the year.
