What is Philadelphia weather like in March?

What is up with the weather nowadays?

  • I live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We started off the month of March with freezing, bitter cold weather and temperatures and last week we were in the seventies with absolutely beautiful weather. Now, it's slowly getting colder and colder. The high tomorrow is supposed to be 46 degrees Fahrenheit. What the heck? The low is 36 degrees Fahrenheit. Does anyone else find this weird with all the sudden changes in temperature in the past month? What is it? Does anyone know?

  • Answer:

Short answer: it's March. Longer answer: it's March.

Do not worry, it is all a part of the sun's 11 year cycles. Allow me to further explain ... The recent change in weather is not related to global warming in my opinion. It is all at the fault of jet streams that bring hot, humid, and warm weather towards the northern areas from Mexico, Cuba, and those generally hot places. Also, the sun as you know, goes through an 11 year cycle in which it is as most risk of solar flares and coronal mass ejections. This also increases the temperatures in jet streams and in different areas. Also, we must give credit to air pollution as the contribution to this process. Once again, global warming is not at fault here. With carbon dioxide levels from cars rising, the temperatures can vary from warm to hot to cold and bring un-season like weather temps. Of course, 30 years ago the temperatures were quite different as things change over years and some points we have hot weather and some we have cold. Hope I could be of assistance!
