How do you find out about antiques?

How can you find out if items you have are antiques and worth anything?

  • My mother in law passed away, and when packing up her things we put together a box of possible antiques that may be worth something, but don't know where to start with the items. It's hard to research items I know nothing about, and there are not a lot of antique shops where I live. I"m willing to spend the time researching if there are any good websites out there. Thanks in advance for any help.
