What supplies Do you need for a horse?

  • Answer:

howdy doody smiley - I am a New Zealander so I'm not sure of costs in other countries but I can give you related costs in NZ: halter/headcollar ($5); lead (5); cover/rug for cold areas ($125-250); saddle - fully mounted ($200 up); bridle & bit ($70 up); saddle blanket ($25); grooming gear ($50); feed bin/bucket ($10); basic equine first aid kit ($50 up); feed (processed grain feed $35); chaff ($20); hay ($8 a bale); hay net ($6); paddock rent (here it is about $15 per week, just for water & grazing); helpful books (try nearest library or internet) - for you: boots ($75 up); safety vest ($80 up); safety helmet ($90 up) - I've run out of ideas, smiley but I tell my students to allow at least $1000 per year for keeping a horse that already has a saddle/bridle - also, borrow gear or go to a local sale of horse gear - all the best - I hope you love your new horse & have great games together - remember: BE SAFE both of you - ka kite (bye) nana-diana
