Is it bad to get a puppy before a renovation?

It is all according to the temperament of the pup. The right pup will adjust just fine. If you get a pup with an unsound temperament? Then you will have problems. Each animal is INDIVIDUAL.

I read somewhere years ago that the dog that has to adjust and change and is put in different situations has the better attitude, adjusts easily to more things and is basically better off in life. If you take care of it and love it, why not? You will have to stay busy taking care of it, so, know that. Puppies take a lot of time. Sure you can pull it off.

I'm with launi- its a subjective situation. A pup with a solid temperament won't be rocked by this. Example when we got what would be come out foundation stud, it was a week before we had the carpet in both the living room and den replaced AND work done on our back porch. Spike was more interested in getting attention from all the workers coming and going than put off or stressed by it.
