How to connect Compaq laptop to TV?

How do I connect my PC to my TV, I have a COMPAQ Laptop with windows 7.?

    If your TV and Laptop both support HDMI, then you should DEFINITELY get HDMI. It has superior sound quality and picture. The next option is to get a VGA cable, which almost every HDTV supports, and every computer supports, and most to all laptops (even net books). If you get a VGA cable though, you will need to buy a auxiliary cable (or just AUX) if you plan on forwarding sound to your TV as well. I doubt laptops really come with DVI inputs so I wont say much about them, but you would set that up just like a VGA cable. Remeber- HDMI is WAY best, and on eBay you can get one for about 1$ with free shipping. thats how I get mine!
