Any Ubuntu Things I should add?

Hey, Is there any Ubuntu downloads I should download to make it better, and MORE like Windows? Something from the Ubuntu Software Center, or somewhere else? Also, I want to go into computer science, and computer repair - do techs usually use Ubuntu, do techs or programmers not use Ubuntu for some reason, or it's perfectly fine for programmers and techs to use Ubuntu? Do they use Win7 over Ubuntu or both are fine to use in the business, it's just up to preference?
