Android Notification Problem?
-
I'm using a Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman with Android 2.3.4. Now, I have apps like Facebook Messenger and Whatsapp installed, which require the use of the Internet, through WiFi or GPRS, whatever. So now, my problem is, whenever I get a message on Whatsapp or the FB Messenger, I don't get the notification for it in the status bar with a tone, until I unlock my phone. Like, suppose so and so sends me a message at 4:52, I unlock my phone at 5:30, the GPRS or WiFi gets activated only then, then I get the notification. If I don't unlock the phone for a while, then I get the notification on its own after like, an hour or 2, which is annoying, because I can't reply to the person in time! So is there any way, that the internet stays on while my phone is locked too, so that I get the notification instantly? (With this, it even affects downloads, because as my phone gets automatically locked in about 30 seconds, the internet goes and the download fails). I use the Pattern Screen Lock and JuiceDefender Ultimate too, just so you know. Help please!

Answer:
Hi, There may be a few reasons for this, I'd first suggest that you verify the Wi-Fi sleep policy by going to: Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings > Press the Menu key > Advanced > Wi-Fi sleep policy. Another option would be to verify the settings of the apps. Once in the application, please press the Menu key > Settings > Notifications. Please keep us posted. -Annie
