Why isn't my iPod touch connected to my computer?

My iPod won't connect to my computer.?

  • I jail-broke it using Cydia, but now I think that whole thing is gone because I used a tutorial to delete it along with Winter-board. My computer recognizes my iPod (touch, 4th gen) as a digital camera, and it won't connect with iTunes. I've been freaking out about it, and I have no clue what I should do. I've tried completely resetting it, it took four hours and nothing happened. It told me I couldn't reset it for some reason. I can't edit the music that I have, and I don't know what to do. I also re-downloaded iTunes, because I was told to do that. I'm lost. Please help me.

  • Answer:

You jailbroke it using Cydia? Cydia is a feature available AFTER you jailbreak your iPod. Hold the sleep and home button on your iPod for about 2 minutes. It should reset, or say "connect to iTunes." All iPods are recognized as a digital camera. Make sure iTunes is open when your device is plugged in. It should be available. After it is detected, click on it, the select "Restore." It may seem like it's freezing up, but it's only working. If this doesn't work, hold Shift while Clicking restore, and it will update to a previous version, but will be restored. After that, simply update it. Updating and restoring could be too much for your iPod to handle. Hope I helped!
