How to tell my parents I'm dating an older guy?

  • Im 17 and he just turned 22 a few days ago. We have been dating for about 4 months now, and when I turn 18 I'd like to tell my parents. I've tried to tell them when we first started dating but they just got mad and yelled at me. But our age difference isn't much, and I'm falling pretty hard for him. I turn 18 in December so we have a while but who knows I'm not one of those girls who think everything will always work out, but I'd like to have some help just invade things do work out. And please don't be rude about it. I don't care if you think we shouldn't be dating I'm just looking for advice. Thanks(:

    well im a parent and my children are all older than both of you and i would not have a problem with who they date as long as they are treated well ---- and guess what 18 is not the age everywhere in the us --- the only reason 18 gets all the publicity is because the enterainment industry is based where it is 18 ---- the fact that im not from the us and i think dating your own age is weird may help --- i dont know what they will think but if they trust themselves and the way you have be raised then they should trust you and not worry ---- best wishes

You guys arent that far in age. If he makes you happy and you like him then dont let age get in the way. Age is just a number. When you tell your parents the will be mad but they want be able to do anything about it. They will probally be more mad at the fact that you waited a while to tell them. Parents are weird like that.
