How can herbaceous plants be evergreen?

I have one of those "evergreen tree looking" indoor plants. Should I plant it outside?

  • This is one of those plants that are bigger at the top, like an upside down Christmas tree. I live in zone 5B. We have some pretty cold winters. Would this plant survive outside year round here? I don't want it in my house anymore but don't quite have the heart to throw it away since I have had it for over two decades.

  • Answer:

If its an indoor plant you do not want to plant it outside . The frost will KILL it without a doubt . Obviously you value this plant since you have it 2 decades but putting it at the mercy of winter weather it wont last a crack

Tommy is right, putting a plant which is meant for and accustomed to indoor climates will die if exposed to outside air for an extended period of time.
