Can some help me find a sample copy of a Wardrobe Stylist Contract for Designer to protect their valuables?
-
So that if the Stylist returns the Designs in any condition other than the way the Fashion Designer has given to you. Designers may begin suit to obtain payment for their damaged items. they need to protect their precious designs. Also a Wardrobe stylist contract reflecting the services to be provided at photo shoots by the Wardrobe Stylist. Thank you guys

Answer:
You need to write this up with a lawyer. Any and all legally binding contracts need the input of a real lawyer. I can't speak from the photographer's point of view but from a designer's point of view I have some strict limits on the use of my garments: All stylists must pay a deposit on each item up to but not under 50% of its retail value. I prefer a credit card deposit. All garments must be returned clean, un-cut and unaltered and in 100% re-sellable condition. Any cutting or altering must be cleared with me, the designer, first. Any garments with alterations that change 50% or more of a garment will be considered sold to the stylist and the full price of the garment will be deducted from the credit card. Any and all cleaning and repairs before return are at the expense of the stylist. All items must be returned by ______ (fill the time and date in and have the stylist initial this clause) Item not returned by ______ will incur a charge to the stylists credit card at ___ per day. (this is a percentage of the total retail amount of the clothes borrowed) I no longer lend out for red carpet occasions, these clothes must be purchased outright. They always come back unsellable - they are stained and some absolutely reek of sweat, booze and who know what and the whole publicity angle doesn't work, rich people can afford the dresses so therefor they should be willing to pay for them. You are correct to protect your designs. I learned the hard way when a long evening dress came back hacked to mini length by a stylist's intern. Spell out everything on the contract and leave nothing to chance. Needless to say this is different when I am contracting both for look books and catalog pictures. I am in charge and I get to have final say on all rules. These rules are negotiated ahead of time at the conference table weeks in advance. Again this was written up with the aid of a lawyer. Fashion schools with stylist programs cover legal issues in detail. So do professional associations for stylists.
