AP Art History or AP Psychology?

Should I take the AP Art History exam?

  • They don't offer AP Art History at my school, but I really want to take it. A friend suggested that next year I take the exam without the class, studying on my own time, but that sounds difficult. Plus, next year I will be taking APUSH, AP Psych, and AP English, along with advanced Spanish and art. That would be four AP exams I would have to study for. Would it be better to take the AP exam senior year rather than junior, or just not even bother with the AP Art History exam? Thanks. :)

  • Answer:

Don't even bother with AP Art History--it will only count in college if you take a related course. You have more important APs that you're currently enrolled in and should be focusing your effort on those classes. Studying for an AP without taking a class is next to impossible and would be a waste of time and effort.
