If I get KYC registered with NSDL, how will my DEMAT a/c provider check my compliance status?

I got KYC registration done through the KYC Registration Agency of NSDL, instead of CDSL. KYC registration Agency. A DEMAT account provider checked the KYC status for my PAN and told me that I wasn't KYC registered. I think he didn't check NSDL website. Do the DEMAT providers check KYC status on all databases - CDSL, NSDL, other KRAs or do they check only one? Are these databases not linked at all ?

Once you become KYC registered, u get a letter indicating that you are KYC compliant and that letter can be provided to your demat provider to confirm ur KYC status. I actually submitted my KYC form to my demat provider and got a letter from CDSL stating that I am KYC compiant. Apart from this, some MF units which i have in physical form also became KYC compliant automatically bcoz they go by the PAN and i recieved letters from these MF providers also separately indicating my KYC status.

When you are registered with NSDL, you will get a "master" copy - a print out of all the relevant details - of your registration. You will register through one of registration agency. You need to submit this letter ( give a copy and not original ). This is sufficient for you. How to cross check and all is the headache of the registry. Why bother? They have necessary softwares and procedures.

tough question !! these all things are well previliged .but DEMAT acc provider can definitely check the status of your PAN card .what you think your bank does not know NSDL personally ?? :P
