Answer:
In the middle ages, philosophy was not really a focus of life until the renaissance, before this time the church(predominatly catholic) had great authority during the medieval times the pope had more power than that of a king and he had a great influence in the laws that were decreed, feudalism was basically developed for protection, lords would appoint knights and vassals to protect them in exchanged for land, the church had an influence in warfare, knights would fight in crusades, which were consideredholy wars which were fought in attempt to convert people from other religions especially those of islam to the christian faith, the knight were promised by the pope that they would recive remision of sins and salvation if they were to die in battle. in the medieval times pretty much everyone followed christianity in europe, this had a great impact in war, laws and what was morally exceptable, the christian church honored things like modesty, after the bussiness men in italy brought back old and forgotten teachings of ancient rome and greece with them back to italy people bacame more interested in things like philosiphy like astrology, anatomy, and thing like that, since books were scarce because they were hand written, but after the invention of the printing press ideas of philosophy were able to thrive. hope this helps :)

The Dark Ages are the years following the fall of the Roman Empire in about 400 to 800. The Medieval or Feudal years follow until about 1200. The Golden Age of Europe is about 1300 to 1600. These terms aren't interchangeable, these eras are agreed to by modern historians as indicators of the period.
