Can you please name 5 careers for which a Philosophy degree is the ideal qualification to have?

Answer:
Outside of academia, I don't think there are any careers for which a Philosophy degree alone is ideal. However, I would highly recommend taking philosophy with another subject. For instance, philosophy and economics make a very good combination, and economics degrees are sought after by companies, financial institutions, etc. The critical thinking skills you learn in philosophy will be an asset. You might also consider philosophy and political science (a very common combination in my experience), philosophy and psychology (particularly if you're interested in philosophy of mind), philosophy and mathematics (especially if you're interested in formal logic), philosophy and any of the natural sciences (if you're interested in philosophy of science). Philosophy is also an excellent precursor to a legal degree. Any of these options may lead to a successful career outside of academia. I say this as someone who only has a degree in Philosophy; I kind of wish I had taken it with another subject. However, since I am interested in academia, this is not such a problem, since I have been admitted to a good graduate program (combined PhD/JD) with just a philosophy degree. However, if you want a job outside of academia with just an undergraduate education, I would recommend pairing philosophy with another subject.

Most CEO's of major corporations has philisophy degrees. Banks like to hire people with philisophy degrees and most finacial institutions like employees who can think outside the box. Most folks think philisophy is pondering the existence of self, but it is far more partical then that,as if anything is more practical then your own existence: )
