Are you with me on this -- Christian churches shouldn't have an Easter egg hunt? Seems that the secularization of the modern church can creep in by adding pagan holiday ideas to the meanings and messages of the Christian way of celebrating holidays and Easter is one of them. The bunnies and eggs are symbols of fertility and a way early people symbolized the coming of spring and life of new things. An Easter egg hunt is bringing paganism into the church. Agree? Easter for Christians is about Jesus Christ dying on the cross as payment for our sins, and we need to honor that, as by knowing God as a Christian we can be saved to heaven forever.

Answer:
I would agree, but in a different way. I don't think easter egg hunts at church is worthwhile because church is a place to come together and worship, not play games and do whatever. If you want to get together and do an easter egg hunt, do it at someone's home or a park or something. I think it's inappropriate. However, I also think the celebration of easter as a single day a year is inappropriate because the bible never specifies it is to be done. Not only that, but Jesus specifically told us how to remember Him, with communion. When we are given a way to remember Him why would we make up other ways? Just for fun? You can see the problem with this dangerous precedent. We should remember Christ's death and resurrection more than once a year, and we should do so in the matter He passed onto us.

There is no where in the Bible that says it is not OK to let children have some fun on any day. If the easter egg hunt is done in connection of the importance of Easter, why not?

No, leave the issue alone, because religion isn't about being rational, it's about community.

Jesus Christ never told us to celebrate Easter or go egg-hunting, did he? The only thing he commanded his followers to do is to remember his DEATH. Luke 22:19 explains this. Origins of Easter: The name Easter, used in many lands, is not found in the Bible. The book Medieval Holidays and Festivals tells us that “the holiday is named after the pagan Goddess of the Dawn and of Spring, Eostre.” And who was this goddess? “Eostre it was who, according to the legend, opened the portals of Valhalla to receive Baldur, called the White God, because of his purity and also the Sun God, because his brow supplied light to mankind,” answers The American Book of Days. It adds: “There is no doubt that the Church in its early days adopted the old pagan customs and gave a Christian meaning to them. As the festival of Eostre was in celebration of the renewal of life in the spring it was easy to make it a celebration of the resurrection from the dead of Jesus, whose gospel they preached.”
Pretty much all Christian holidays have roots in paganism. Hell, Jeremiah 10 of the bible even condemns Christmas trees!

I absolutely agree. Like with Christmas, Easter needs to focus on Jesus and not these silly traditions that have zero to do with His death and resurrection.
