How truly hard and difficult is AP calculus BC?

How hard is AP Calculus BC ?

I am a freshman currently enrolled in Honors Algebra 2. I have an A in that class, and I am learning calculus during my spare time because it's quite fun to apply advanced concepts to simple concepts. Would learning calculus now help me during my junior year, which is when I propose to take AP calculus BC ? Or should I wait until then ?
