Can you clean contacts of an eye infection?

Wearing contacts after an eye infection? When is it ok?

• On monday, I fell asleep in my contacts and for the last week my right eye was sensitive, and burning at times and puffy, today is friday and all the swelling went down, my eye isn't red anymore, it's a little sensitive but not nearly as bad. I was thinking to wait one more day before I wear the contacts again. I'm going to a big party tomorrow and I would hate to wear my glasses, i've cleaned the contacts that I fell asleep in for the last week and rubbed them with solution, when do you think it'll be okay to wear them again?

  Leave it as long as possible and only keep the lenses in for as long as you have to at the party. If it was an infection then a new set of lenses might be best, but it could just be that you've made yoru eyes sore with overwear. One sleep in your contacts isn't a serious issue if your eyes eases off. Eyes do heal fast so hopefully it won't be sensitive at all tomorrow. If this recurs though go and get your eyes checked you might need antibiotics, and keep your wearing time down a bit for a week.
